Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has said he “ doesn’t really care ” about Paul Pogba’s criticism of him as the couple’s feud took a new turn on Friday night.
Earlier today, the Manchester United midfielder said current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer “ will not go against the players ” in a low-key blow against the Portuguese.
Pogba, who joined United in 2016 for a world record £ 89million while Mourinho was in charge, had a well-documented falling out with the 58-year-old when he was in charge of the Old Trafford club .
I once had a great relationship with Mourinho, ”Pogba told Sky Sports. “Everyone saw this and the next day you don’t know what happened.”
The 28-year-old France international added: “It’s the weird thing I had with Mourinho and I can’t explain it to you because even I don’t know.”
After Spurs’ 2-2 draw with Everton on Friday night, Mourinho simply said “I don’t care” when asked about Pogba’s comments.
Pogba helped United win the League Cup and Europa League in 2017 under Mourinho, but he was removed from his post as vice-captain after a huge row in September 2018.
The spitting peaked in the same month when the player and manager were filmed arguing at the training ground shortly after the Frenchman was relieved of his leadership duties.
Pogba has a much better relationship with Solskjaer and has thrived under the Norwegian, explaining what made the two managers crack and cheesy in an explosive interview with Sky Sports.
And the United midfielder also had his say over Mourinho’s argument with Solskjaer following Man United’s 3-1 win at Tottenham last weekend.
The pair clashed as Solskjaer criticized Heung-min Son for his role in a canceled goal by Edinson Cavani.
“I don’t know what happened,” Pogba said. “I’m sure Mourinho said something that would get people talking, that’s what he’s doing.
“We got the result we wanted, Ole knows that and we enjoyed it because we know Mourinho and we know what he likes. We don’t need this [war of words], we just focus on ourselves.
“We won the game, he lost the game and he doesn’t want to talk about the game, he wants to talk about someone’s dad, that’s what he does. Everyone knows him, he’s very Mourinho.
