Jordan Henderson’s strike against Senegal put England on the path to a comfortable World Cup victory – and the celebration was even better.
The Liverpool midfielder headed home in the first half to make it 1-0 against the Three Lions after great work from Jude Bellingham on the left flank.
The 32-year-old converted with ease before seeking out the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder to award the goal on a plate for him.
In typical Henderson style, the midfielder grabbed Bellingham and ‘squared’ up to him in a show of passion before embracing the youngster in a hug.
Harry Kane then struck in the dying moments of the first half before Bukayo Saka sealed the easy 3-0 win early in the second.
Next up for England is defending champions France, which will be a serious test of their credentials to win the World Cup – but before that there was time for light-hearted celebrations from Bellingham and his England team-mates .
Among those celebrations was a social media post from England’s official Twitter account which showed Henderson and Liverpool team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold recreating their famous celebration in the Al Bayt Stadium tunnel.
Bellingham was also seen with a big smile on his face as he clearly saw the fun side of a night of good feelings for the Three Lions in Qatar.
