John Travolta shared the deep and candid conversation he had about death and death with his 10-year-old son Ben following the death of his wife Kelly Preston.
Travolta, 67, had a deep conversation with her son, who expressed fear of death after his mother died of breast cancer last July.
“(Ben) once said to me, ‘Because mom passed away I’m afraid you will,'” Travolta told Kevin Hart on his “Hart to Heart” talk show (streaming on Peacock ). “I said, ‘Well that’s a very different thing.’ And I went through the differences regarding my longevity and its limited lifespan. “
But then Travolta said he rallied around his son.
“I said, ‘Well, you’ve always loved the truth, and I’m going to tell you the truth about life. Nobody knows when they’re going to leave or when they’re going to stay.”

Travolta and Preston mourned the death of their eldest son Jett, who died on January 2, 2009, at the age of 16, after suffering a seizure while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas.
“Your brother (Jett) left at 16. Too young. Your mother left at 57. It was too young. But who said? I could die tomorrow. You could. Anyone can,” a- he added. “So let’s look at it like it’s part of life. You don’t know exactly. You’re just doing your best to try and live as long as possible.”
Travolta and Preston married in 1991 and had three children, including their now 21-year-old daughter Ella.

Travolta Says Tom Hanks’ ‘Splash’ Role Was Written For Him
During the interview with Hart, Travolta referred to the starring role of Tom Hanks in the 1984 hit comedy “Splash”, claiming that the role “was written for me.”
Travolta said he had no problem passing on the role of the blockbuster movie. If he hadn’t passed on “Splash,” then “we wouldn’t have Tom Hanks,” Travolta said. “So let’s take Tom Hanks.”
Travolta joked that he can “take responsibility” for the careers of several stars who have played roles he couldn’t, including Hanks and Richard Gere.
The “Saturday Night Fever” star explained that in Hollywood in the late 1970s and early 1980s he was a lead actor for almost every major role.
“It was just Richard Gere, myself and Treat Williams for most of the parts and Tom (Hanks) came in a few years later,” Travolta said. “Those roles would become interchangeable. So in some ways in Vegas it’s a one in four chance.”
