John David Duggar and his wife Abbie are finally opening up about a plane crash in October that they allegedly blamed on “double engine failure”.
Jim Bob Duggar’s son, 32, and his better half, 29, released a statement regarding the traumatic ordeal to Celebuzz on Friday.
“An emergency landing or any type of plane crash is a scary thing, but that’s exactly what pilots are trained to do,” the couple began.

“We are very grateful for God’s protection as we all came away uninjured when this happened last October,” they continued. “We so appreciate the love and care that so many people have shown us!”
People have reported that the 32-year-old former reality TV star blamed “double engine failure” on the accident, which happened around 7 p.m. on October 29.
Although no one was injured, the plane suffered “substantial” damage and John David called 911.
The crash was confirmed by the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Department and 911 dispatched confirmed that John David was flying and was also the one who made the call.

He said that due to the double engine failure, he had to land his Piper PA-30 plane in a field in Waverly, Tennessee.
However, a local sheriff’s department spokesperson told The Sun that John David had in fact just run out of gas.
“An Arkansas family ran out of fuel and landed in a field,” they said.
The Sun also reported that the six-seater plane was only in the air for five minutes when it came down.

People also reported that the plane was registered with Medic Choppers, LLC. and belonged to Medic Corps, a non-profit organization that deploys “multi-purpose rescue teams to mass casualty situations overseas and at home.”
The organization is not affiliated with the Medic Corps.
John David is Medic Corps’ business manager, while Nathan Bates of the TV show Bringing Up Bates is its operations manager.
The accident happened six months to the day after the arrest of John’s older brother, Josh. Josh was convicted of two counts of child pornography last month.
He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on each count if convicted.
