Joanna Jędrzejczyk left the hospital with no apparent injury after meeting Weili Zhang at UFC 248.
The two fought one of the biggest fights in the history of MMA, which saw Zhang come out victorious, but the effects of the brutal struggle were clear to both women.
The extent of Jedrzejczyk’s injury led to the film “Megamind” on Twitter and, of course, they were both sent to hospital after the case, Jedrzejczyk apparently having spent the night.
Sunday morning, respected MMA reporter Ariel Helwani posted a photo of the Polish man leaving the hospital with his head bandaged.
he wrote: “Joanna Jedrzejczyk has just left the hospital, according to her team. No significant injuries, they said. “
He also added that Weili had been released at around the same time and revealed that his manager, Brian Butler, had told him that the straw weight champion had no significant injuries other than swelling of the feet and ankles.
Jedrzejczyk, who is now 0-4 in his last four title fights, said she definitely feels the power of the champion.
“She did a great job. I felt his punches, ”she said.
“The swelling bothered me. I was feeling it more and more, but it’s okay. Congratulations champion. I am very happy that we fought well. “
Calls for revenge were the natural result of such a big fight, and UFC president Dana White said that whatever happens, the two women are resting well.
“Did you see what these two girls looked like after this fight?” White asked when the idea came up at the UFC 248 post-fight press conference.
“Dude, they’re both in the hospital right now, they didn’t go to a press conference, they didn’t speak to the press. They both went straight to the hospital. They must go home, take time, heal and everything before you even mention fighting with one or the other. ”
