Lopez, 52, spoke to SHE in December 2020 on his approach to aging and his desire to live life to the full.
She explained that she has a daily affirmation that she says to herself: “Every day, I say that I am young and timeless at any age. I live a beautiful, adventurous life with my children, and we are all in perfect health, All of those great things that you learn to say to yourself so that there’s that positive self-talk in your head really creates a beautiful person on the inside that nurtures a beautiful person on the outside.”
She added that numbers shouldn’t matter. “You never want to get along well for 50,” she said. “They just want to hear you look good, no matter how old you are. And for me and for the company, that’s a big part of that. We don’t want people to leave, you look great for 60, 50, 40, 35. You want people to leave wow you are beautiful. It’s part of our goal: to help everyone feel beautiful, no matter their age, so we don’t have to hear about it as much. It doesn’t get that bad. “Oh my God, she’s 50.” It’s like, does it matter? You’re just your best self, no matter what.
