Jennifer Lopez remains focused on her work.
The 54-year-old actress/producer was in Mexico City on Wednesday, May 22, to promote her new Netflix film. Atlas when a reporter asked him a personal question rather than a professional one.
“Is your divorce from Ben Affleck real? These rumors?” » asked the unidentified journalist in a room full of astonished journalists. “What is the truth? For the Mexican press [for the Mexican press]what is the truth about the situation? »
Lopez’s co-star Simu Liu immediately chimed in. “Okay, we don’t do that,” Liu said. “Thank you guys so much, we really appreciate it. Thank you.”
Lopez then leaned over and looked directly at the reporter, responding, “You know better than that.”
“Come on, please don’t come with this energy,” Liu added.
“If I could just end on one thing,” Liu continued. “Jen is a producer on this film and that’s why I’m here and why Sterling [K. Brown] was in this beautiful film because Jen cares. And Jen cares about things like representation and diversity, and she’s a boss.”
Lopez ended the press conference by telling the press in Spanish: “Thank you. Nobody asked me anything in Spanish, but okay.” She blew a kiss and smiled as attendees laughed.
The performer has been busy promoting the sci-fi streaming film amid a rocky patch in her marriage to Ben Affleck.
Their marriage “is not in the best place right now,” a source close to Lopez told PEOPLE earlier this week. The couple has been living apart recently amid marital strife, according to other sources.

Affleck wasn’t at the LA premiere Atlas Monday nor the premiere in Mexico City on Tuesday.
Instead, the actor was spotted dining at a popular Italian restaurant in Santa Monica while Lopez was out of the country promoting the film. Both were spotted wearing their wedding rings this week.
Lopez and Affleck met on the set of Gigli in 2001 and got engaged but separated in 2004. Nearly two decades later, they rekindled their romance and tied the knot in a small Vegas wedding in 2022.
