Ben Affleck went the distance for Jennifer Lopez. The couple were pictured together in Gran Canaria, Spain, where Lopez filmed his upcoming thriller The mother for Netflix.
Lopez and Affleck were captured holding hands and generally happy together during one of his breaks. You can see more photos from their reunion here, but the way Lopez looks at Affleck below clearly shows how smitten she’s been with him for nearly a year.
Lopez spoke to rolling stone last month on why she doesn’t see her rekindled relationship with Affleck fail again. “I don’t think we would have gotten back together if we thought that was where it was headed,” she said. “We feel like what we’ve found is so much more important, and how we protect that and how we live our lives – what to share, what not to share – that’s the balance that we have now, the benefit of the experience and wisdom that we have acquired over the years.
In a New York Times interview published on February 1, Lopez explained why she thinks the second time is the charm for them. Lopez and Affleck first met from 2002 to 2004 and got engaged before calling off their marriage in September 2003. They finally broke up in January 2004.
“I would say we learned our lesson the first time around,” Lopez said with a sigh. “To hold it sacred. You have to do what makes you feel good all the time. But at the same time, you learn from the past, you do things better the second time around. There’s a part of that, yes, we’re together. But there’s a part of it that’s not, you know, being as open as we were when we were so young and in love many years ago.
