Cozy-girl fall is in full swing, and Jennifer Lawrence might as well be the standard-bearer for this seasonal trend. she just put on the Sloth’s quintessential fall uniform, and now I can say she and I have at least one thing in common: we both love a simple look that takes less than five seconds to put together. Time = saved.
Lawrence was photographed in New York City on a warmer than usual sunny fall day, but the outfit she wore might as well be slipped on when the temperatures drop into fall territory. The actress, who has been walking more regularly since welcoming her first child with hubby Cooke Maroney, donned true blue straight jeans, a welcome change of pace from the ultra-baggy bottoms we see everywhere. Don’t get me wrong: we’re here for both silhouettes, but Lawrence’s pair are a good reminder that the tried-and-true ’90s straight leg is still here to stay.
The actress paired her blues with a dark red crew-neck sweater that gives off fall vibes to a T. The color looked so gorgeous with the wash of the jeans, plus it made her golden locks pop even more. (Excuse me while I run to add a red knit to my collection.) The finishing touches included her Garrett Leight sunglasses which she wears regularly to block the sun and, um, stay incognito, plus $820 ballet flats from The Row. The form-fitting shoe option, made from supple Nappa leather that fits like a glove, is sure to stir up the emotions, but whether you like them or not, there’s no denying that they look supremely comfortable.
While Lawrence’s shoes of choice may be divisive, her fall two-piece look is definitely not. The no-fuss uniform is cute and comfy (two words we love to use in our dress dictionary) and can easily be tailored to your unique style preferences. Go for a chunky sweater if you like that oversized look or a more refined version of pairing with a form-fitting crew neck.
