Do you feel like something is happening to the climate? It’s almost like… it’s getting hotter and hotter? Or like… there could be a burning hole through an invisible layer in the sky? I’m not sure, it’s not National geographic. It’s the National geographic coats, bags and shoes! So, I will trace the climate runes on the clothes that celebrities wear when they appear in public.
One look at Jennifer Lawrence’s feet and it becomes clear that we’re entering a meteorologically confusing fall. (See the photo here.) Over the weekend, the actor wore a pair of fleece-surfaced beach slides (surely a contradiction in terms) while taking a stroll around New York City. This is a change from the artful “non-shoes” Lawrence has spent the last couple of months in, even though they were purchased at The Row.
In Miami, Dakota Johnson seemed to act as a psychic mirror to Jennifer Lawrence: wearing an oversized cashmere sweater and wide-leg teddy fleece pants (all in beige) while carrying around a huge watermelon. Because she likes the color green, I guess. If I were a meteorologist, I would take note of all this too. After all, Meghan Markle, Cardi B and Angelina Jolie – in their 50 shades of biscuit, fawn and taupe – knew it would be fall a few weeks ago.
