Jefferies Financial Group Inc. is grateful for hard-working junior bankers – and the Wall Street firm shows its appreciation with a selection of coveted fitness perks, including a Peloton Interactive Inc. bike and Apple Inc. products.

“It’s the least we can do,” CEO Rich Handler said in an emailed statement Thursday. “Everyone at Jefferies deeply appreciates the hard work and sacrifice that all of our analysts and associates have made since the launch of Covid-19.” Efforts to reward junior staff have been underway for weeks and do not respond to recent news, a person with knowledge of the matter said.

Employees can choose a gift, Handler and Chairman Brian Friedman said in a note to the company’s 1,124 analysts and associates. They can choose from a Peloton bike with a one-year subscription; a Mirror home training system with a one-year subscription; or a package including an Apple Watch SE, an iPad Air and AirPods Pro with AppleCare +.

Overworked analysts have been a hot topic of conversation on Wall Street, in part because of a A scathing presentation circulating this week in which staff at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. deplore 100-hour weeks and declining physical and mental health.
