Jamie Carragher appeals to Liverpool fans after Mohamed Salah, Jurgen Klopp row

Jamie Carragher has told Liverpool fans to leave Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp to “sort it out” and “enjoy their last weeks together”.

The Liverpool icons epitomize what has been a difficult period for the Reds, with the pair arguing on the touchline as Salah prepared to come on as a substitute in the Reds’ 2-2 draw at West Ham on Saturday.

Salah added that he had caused further concern among Liverpool fans with his comments in the mixed zone after the match, telling the media “if I speak there will be fire”.

But despite the incidents sparking debate among Liverpool fans, Carragher – who earned his legendary status during his 25 years at Anfield – told fans not to take sides.

Speaking to X the morning after the match, Carragher said: “MO Salah and Jurgen Klopp are both @LFC legends.

“We don’t need to take sides! Salah is frustrated and angry with Jurgen for not playing and at that moment he didn’t want to fully embrace the boss, Jurgen naturally objected.

“MO was stupid with his comment in the mixed zone but let’s let them sort it out and enjoy the last few weeks together.

“They have helped each other enormously in everything that has been achieved at the club!”

Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat to Merseyside rivals Everton in midweek marked a huge setback in the Premier League title race with Arsenal and Manchester City.

Carragher also said Salah had “lost his temper” in his post-match analysis of the clash at Goodison Park.

The Egyptian had failed to score in his last three league matches – a streak which now extends to four matches.

It is a rare dip in form for Liverpool’s superstar winger, whose contract expires next summer.

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Jurgen Klopp is causing Liverpool big problems by disrespecting Mo Salah during their heated exchange on the sidelines.

Salah has been key to Klopp’s success at Liverpool, scoring 210 goals in 346 games since signing from Roma in 2017.

The two men have won a Premier League, a Champions League, an FA Cup and two League Cups together.

They have just three games left before Klopp bids farewell after nine years of reign.

The Reds have played 35 games, one more than leaders Arsenal and two more than second-placed City. Despite this, their two title rivals have a points total higher by two points and one point respectively.
