James Maddison jokes that Ally McCoist would be RIGHT to let Jude Bellingham date his daughters and keep his grandmother away from Jack Grealish – but Bukayo Saka would be the best son-in-law among England stars

England star James Maddison has responded to Ally McCoist’s hilarious claim that he would let Jude Bellingham date his daughter but wouldn’t let Jack Grealish around his grandmother.

Rangers legend McCoist, who has five sons, told talkSPORT on Monday that if he had five daughters instead, they could all date Bellingham.

Ally McCoist says unlike Jude Bellingham, he wouldn’t let Jack Grealish near his grandmother!

The 19-year-old midfielder caught the eye with his maturity on and off the pitch while playing for the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup.

Grealish, on the other hand, is a self-confessed cheeky chappy and recently admitted that he used to do “dumb” things.

McCoist said: “I just think he’s [Bellingham] unbelievable. I have five boys at home, but if I had five girls, I’d probably let him take them all out at once!

“He’s that kind of boy as little Jack Grealish, I wouldn’t let him near my grandma!” I love little Jack, but he’s just too mischievous.

Responding to McCoist, Maddison agreed with the former Rangers striker and admitted that despite his blossoming friendship with Grealish, there was no way he was allowing a family member to date him.

“I think that he is [McCoist] talks about Jude,” Maddison told talkSPORT. “He’s such a nice guy he’s obviously a superstar and I have no qualms about saying that in terms of getting carried away because he doesn’t have that mentality. He’s a superstar and a guy brilliant and a brilliant person.

“He’s very humble, very modest so I can see where he’s coming from with Jude.

“Let’s move on to Jack, I’d probably agree!” Jack is a mischievous. Jack is a brilliant boy, he and I get along so well. He’s one of my best friends here, but if I had a family member and he said, ‘I’m going on a date with Jack Grealish’, I’d say, ‘No, you don’t. you’re not!”

When asked who in the England squad would make the best son-in-law, Maddison had no doubts that Bukayo Saka would be the perfect man for the job.

He added: “The first that comes to my mind is Bukayo Saka. He is such a nice boy. I saw Luc [Shaw] talk about Bukayo, I saw Jack [Grealish] talk about B

“You just had this relationship with him, he’s such a nice guy to everyone where you build a good relationship with him and if I had a sister or a daughter and they were like ‘I’m going to a date with Bukayo Saka’, I’d be like, have fun. Let him pay, but have fun”

The Leicester City star is yet to make a World Cup appearance after recovering from a knee injury sustained in the Foxes’ 2-0 win at West Ham last month.

Maddison has revealed he is now fully fit and waiting to be called up by boss Gareth Southgate.
