THE CITY OF OKLAHOMA, December 1, 2022 –Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in October and November, the NBA announced today.
Williams appeared in 18 games (seven starts) for the Thunder and averaged 10.7 points (5th among rookies) on 52.4% shooting to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists (4th among rookies) in 25.1 minutes per game.
After Josh Giddey won four Rookie of the Month awards in the 2021-22 season, Thunder rookies have now won the award in five of the last six months. Williams becomes the third Thunder rookie to win Rookie of the Month.
In the Thunder’s 119-111 win over San Antonio last night, Williams led Oklahoma City with a career-high 27 points on 11 of 15 shooting (2 of 3 3FG).
Williams was selected 12th overall by the Thunder in the 2022 NBA Draft after earning All-WCC First Team honors during his junior season at Santa Clara University.
