Jadon Sancho will not travel with the Manchester United squad to their training camp in Spain.

The Red Devils are set to play friendlies against LaLiga sides Cadiz and Real Betis in Andalucia but one of their young stars will stay at home.

Sancho has had a tough time at United since signing from Borussia Dortmund last summer, having so far failed to replicate the levels he achieved in the Bundesliga.

He will now remain in England for the next few days as his teammates cross the continent, with United releasing their list of players who will feature in Spain.

The likes of David de Gea, Donny Van de Beek and Anthony Martial have all been included in the traveling squad.

Without Sancho, the club said: “Jadon Sancho is continuing his individual training program as part of a process to return to his highest level.

“The club fully supports him in this.”

Thirteen members of the first team are currently taking part in the World Cup in Qatar and will therefore not participate either.

United have organized their camp to prepare for the return of English football at the end of December.

Their first match after the World Cup is a Carabao Cup tie at home to Burnley, managed by Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany.

Erik ten Hag’s side will then make their return to the Premier League two days after Christmas Day when they host Nottingham Forest.

A trip to Wolves will cap off their 2022 as United aim for a top four finish at the end of the season.

For Sancho, he will want to use this free time to rediscover his mojo as he targets silverware at Old Trafford, with just three goals in 14 appearances to his name so far this season.
