Moving forward, Clive White de Wood Nuclear will lead the combined new company as Senior Vice President, Critical Mission Solutions – International (CMS-I), Dawne Hickton Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Critical Mission Solutions. The integration of the two companies will unite common cultures and qualities, supported by Jacobs values, to create an environment where all employees can flourish. Building on Jacobs’ cutting edge integration approach, a joint nuclear integration management office (IMO) Jacobs-Wood has been trained and works to oversee the integration process, building on the solid cultural foundations of both organizations to maximize the value of the new entity. Jacobs Senior Vice President Pete Lutwyche oversees the implementation of the IMO and supports initiatives in the wider sector.
The combination brings more than 2,000 employees into the Jacobs business, and plans to recruit an additional 300 to 400 employees in these highly skilled positions over the next year. It expands the Jacobs employee base in the UK to almost 11,000 and increases access to specialist talent – particularly in locations across Cheshire and Cumbria, United Kingdom, as well as broadening the scope Europe, Japan, the Middle East, South Africa and in the United States
Jacobs also plans to invest in the UK’s largest independent nuclear research, development and testing facilities at Birchwood Park, near Warrington, northwest of England, to provide capabilities such as remote handling, cyber, inspection technology and test bench facilities.
