Jack Wilshere names Cesc Fabregas as the most talented Arsenal star he has played with and raves about Wayne Rooney for being “strong, fast and aggressive”

Jack Wilshere named Cesc Fabregas as the most talented footballer he has played with at Arsenal.

Wilshere started with the Gunners, graduating from the club’s academy, and played for England 34 times alongside some of the real greats of the game, including Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney.

After ten years in the Emirates, he joined West Ham in 2018, but several injury setbacks hampered his progress at London Stadium.

He is now and again a free agent and trains with the Gunners as he seeks a new club and a new chapter in his career after leaving Bournemouth earlier this year.

Joining talkSPORT on Thursday, Wilshere named Fabregas as the best he’s ever played with and talked about his leadership qualities people might not be familiar with.

When asked which better player he has played with at Arsenal, he replied to Drive: “Probably Cesc Fabregas.

“He played in the Premier League – just after the ‘Invincibles’ team – at 16.

“You won’t see that anymore. Even players like Foden, he didn’t start until he was 18.

“I learned a lot from him because he was also my captain. People don’t realize he was a great leader.

“He was a speaker on the pitch, in the locker room. He motivated us and he was the locker room, he was the loudest.

“He would also lead by his performances. I’ve played with him so many times where he would create ten chances on his own and control the game on his own.

Wilshere named Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney as the England player he believed to be the best he played with.

“For everything he’s done in his career, Rooney.” Wilshere said when asked who his best England teammate is.

“It was an animal. Strong, fast and aggressive.

“He also had an amazing football brain.”
