‘It’s not a fight’ – Tyson Fury slammed for calling out Mahmoud Charr, who ‘isn’t in the top 50 top heavyweights’, and tells fans he doesn’t want Anthony Joshua fights

TalkSPORT Fight Night host Adam Catterall was quick to slam Tyson Fury for his role in dismantling a potential fight with Anthony Joshua.

It’s been a tumultuous few days in the Fury vs Joshua saga, which seemed to be going so well after AJ agreed to ‘The Gypsy King’ terms for a Dec. 3 fight, with a 60/40 split.

Fury’s fight with Anthony Joshua is currently on hold according to ‘The Gypsy King’ himself

Contracts were then sent out but that’s when it all started to fall apart as Fury became frustrated with how long it was taking Joshua to sign for the fight and so he set a Monday deadline. 17 hours.

Joshua explained that the contracts were currently with his lawyers and so he missed the deadline, leading Fury to post on social media saying the fight was over and he would fight the former champion “regular”. of the WBA, 37 years old. Mahmoud Charr, instead.

“Are you leaving for Mahmoud Charr? Said Catterall while appearing on talkSPORT’s Breakfast show.

“How many fans are going to buy a PPV view for this, how many people are going to buy a ticket for this?

“Come on man! Let’s be real, this is not a fight for the best heavyweight on the planet, Mahmoud Charr, with all due respect, is not in the top 50 best heavyweight on the planet .

“Why does he want to go fight him? It does not mean anything. The meaningless fight is Anthony Joshua, you name it.

“Put down your phone, go to the gym and get ready, people in suits will organize the fight for you and then we’ll see you on December 3, that’s what should happen.”

Charr has a pro record of 33-4 (19 KOs)

As it stands, it looks like promoters on both sides, Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, still want the fight to happen and so Catterall thinks if it doesn’t go ahead the blame must fall on their feet. of Fury.

“The whole Tyson Fury team, including Frank Warren, including George Warren, including the people who are actually around the table debating this deal, they are on the same page as Matchroom,” said explained Catterall.

“That never happens, Matchroom and Eddie Hearn’s team are never on the same page as the Queensbury team.

“They’re all on the same page, they’re all saying the same things and they’re all going in the right direction, the only person going against the grain here is Tyson Fury.

“So all the fans are going to wrap up, if Tyson Fury walks away from that situation and he sticks to his guns and says, ‘That’s it Anthony Joshua, you’re in the cold, I don’t no, you missed my deadline.

“If he walks away from this situation right now with how far they’ve pushed this deal over the line and how close they are to getting him over the line, the only conclusion fans can draw is that he never really wanted it in the first place.”
