‘It’s always the same’ – McIlroy reflects on Masters

The Northern Irishman won four majors between 2011 and 2014 – twice at the PGA Championship, as well as the Open Championship and US Open – but was never in contention as he sought to become only the sixth man to complete the career Grand Slam.

His attention will now turn to the US PGA Championship at Valhalla in mid-May, followed by the US Open at Pinehurst in June, then the Open Championship at Royal Troon in July.

“I think it’s just about me improving my game a little bit for the rest of the season,” McIlroy mused.

“I need to take some time and reflect on this week and what I did well and what I didn’t do so well and try to make a plan for the next few months, especially between now and the end of July , going through the major season.

“They’re obviously going to come thick and fast here, so I’m hoping to get in a little bit better shape for those last three.”
