‘It’s a bad joke’ – Manchester United’s transfer list since 2013 leaves Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy baffled, including Angel Di Maria, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Marouane Fellaini

The list of Manchester United transfers since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson is not very legible.

The Red Devils have spent over £1bn over the past nine years but their trajectory has been downward.

Ferguson bid farewell to United in 2013 after winning 13 Premier League titles

Last season they finished sixth under caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick where they recorded their lowest points tally in Premier League history.

All that money spent under successive managers has yielded little to no success, and current United-linked players are unlikely to give fans any assurances that this will change anytime soon.

Adrien Rabiot looks likely to join in a £15m deal from Juventus, with personal terms yet to be discussed.

Marko Arnautovic was the subject of an offer from the Red Devils, which was rejected by Bologna, and they later decided not to pursue the transfer any further.

The rumors drew a lot of ridicule from fans and pundits.

So Sports Bar hosts Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara went through the list one by one to see who was a hit and who wasn’t.

SPOILERS: There were many more in the flop column.

Cundy said, “I don’t know what’s going on. It feels a bit like being in a circus. It feels like a bit of a bad joke.

“I have a list of names they have signed since Sir Alex left.”

O’Hara added: “Is there a good one out there? Has anyone succeeded? I’ll say yes or no.

Marouane Fellaini – “Yes.”

Juan Mata – “Yes.”

Ander Herrera – “No.”

There were many more names Cundy brought up that O’Hara didn’t even have time to answer, there were so many players on the list.

The absentees were Dan James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Amad Diallo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I may have missed a few, but those are your big heads,” Cundy added.

O’Hara said: “There’s a lot of money spent, but I have seven successful players.

“That’s probably up for debate too!”
