Thomas started the season with the Washington Wizards, was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, and was later canceled by LA.
Isaiah Thomas averaged 12.2 points and 3.7 assists with the Wizards. He’s no longer an NBA superstar, but Thomas can still step out of the bench and easily score 15 to 20 points when running a second unit.
Thomas recently spoke to Alex Kennedy about Hoops Hype about what he thinks he can bring to a team:
“Everything that I have always brought to a team. I am a leader, above all. I won the NBA Community Assist award, so off the field, I help in the community,” said Isaiah Thomas to Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype.
“In the field, I think what I bring to a team when given the opportunity is self-explanatory. I also bring my wisdom. I don’t think anyone has gone through the hardships I have experienced in this league. Despite obstacle after obstacle, I overcame everything that was launched and I took advantage of all the opportunities I had. I think that is what is most important.
“I think I can help in any situation I find myself in,” added Thomas. “Ideally, I would like to be part of a championship team – a playoff team – because I know I can still contribute and help win playoff games, if necessary. It’s in my DNA. The biggest thing is to try to find the best opportunity for me and stay ready. Understand that whatever opportunity is offered to me, I will be ready for it. And I think everyone knows it. “
Now 31, Isaiah Thomas has an NBA career average of 18.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
