However, Mikel Arteta could find himself without a key player ahead of the important game against Antonio Conte’s unbeaten Spurs.

Midfielder Thomas Partey returned early from international duties with Ghana after suffering a knee injury.

Partey withdrew from training just minutes before kick-off against Brazil on Friday after experiencing discomfort during the warm-up.

He has already missed three games for Arsenal this season and made his comeback in the Gunners’ win over Brentford last time out.

If he is to have another spell on the sidelines, that will sum up his chance in an injury-plagued Arsenal career thus far.

It’s a bad read for the Gunners, but Ghana boss Otto Addo has helped ease serious injury fears.

Addo said: “Hopefully Thomas will be healthy very, very soon.

“We didn’t want to take that risk in a friendly to play him against Brazil.”

Partey is now set to be assessed ahead of the weekend’s derby and Arteta will hope he is fit enough to play a part in a huge game.

Arsenal already have several issues to contend with with Martin Odegaard, Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko all doubtful for the clash.

Mohamed Elneny and Reiss Nelson are already absent while Emile Smith Rowe and Cedric Soares are also not expected to feature.
