Jude Bellingham is expected to be absent as Real Madrid begin their Champions League knockout journey against RB Leipzig this evening.
The England superstar is the club’s top scorer in Europe with four goals, just one behind his former teammate Erling Haaland.
Bellingham has scored or assisted in all five of his UEFA Champions League matches for Real Madrid so far.
However, the midfielder is suffering from an ankle injury which forced him out of Madrid’s 4-0 win over Girona on Saturday.

Bellingham will likely be out for several weeks and has been left out of Madrid’s traveling squad to face Leipzig.
In his absence, Brahim Diaz should combine the Brazilian pair Vinicius Junior and Rodryo in attack.
Regarding his options without Bellingham, Ancelotti said: “We never think about those [players] who are not there.
“It’s more fair to think about those who are here. Without Bellingham, we won four games out of four.” [this season]. Those who replaced him did well, whether it was Brahim [Diaz] or Joselu.”

Although Madrid confirmed Bellingham’s absence, Leipzig coach Marco Rose expressed doubts about his former protégé’s injury.
The German manager mentored Bellingham during his tenure in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
“I don’t think he’ll be out until he’s in the stadium,” Rose said.
“I know Jude, he will do everything to play the Champions League match. He will perhaps see other doctors today to be in good shape.
“I’ve read a lot but we’ll see if he’s there or not.”
