“Internet is too fast” – UFC confirms Manchester pay-per-view date in deleted social media post

The UFC’s return to England finally has an official date.

Dana White recently confirmed that MMA’s premier promotion would hold a pay-per-view show in Manchester in July, but did not reveal a specific date.

On Tuesday, the company’s official X account – formerly known as Twitter – shared a poster to promote UFC 304, which takes place in Manchester on July 27.

The photo was quickly removed, but not before MMA fans took a screenshot and started celebrating the UFC’s latest UK show by getting an official date.

One fan tweeted: “Someone at UFC pressed a post when they shouldn’t have and then deleted it, but the internet is too fast for these creators.”

Another said: “UFC removed it… but we still have it.” »

A third person commented: “I need to be quicker with the delete button. »

Someone else asked: “Why do you think the UFC removed this #UFC304 ad?” »

UFC champions Leon Edwards and Tom Aspinall are expected to defend their belts on the card, although it remains unclear who they will face.

Dave Lovell, who is Edwards’ head coach, recently spoke with talkSPORT MMA and named the opponent his star client will almost certainly face next.

“The UFC is here in July, so there’s no doubt Leon will be on the bill,” Lovell told Kweku Afari at OKTAGON 56 in Birmingham on Saturday night.

“I think it will be Belal [Muhammad] following. It’s not set in stone, but 99.9% [of me] think it will be Belal.

“Leon is looking forward to the July bill, he starts camp next week, for a 12-week camp and we are fine-tuning our tools to deal with Mr. Belal.”

Edwards and Muhammad fought in March 2021, but their fight ended in a no contest after the Palestinian-American MMA star inadvertently punched each other’s eyes in the second round.

Lovell believes Muhammad faked an injury to try to disqualify his fighter, so he’s looking forward to getting back at him this summer.

He added: “If that glance never happened, I think Leon would have finished him in the second round.

“For me, analyzing the fight and looking back on it, Belal was looking for a way out and stealing a decision.

“That eye stung, and the noise he made, literally screaming and crying, it’s funny that he didn’t need to go to the hospital, that he didn’t have any eye damage, so what does that tell you?

“If the doctors clear him after the fight, what does that tell you? He tried to steal a decision, but the return on investment is ab****, we’ll see.

Although Edwards’ opponent is basically set, it remains unclear who Aspinall or anyone else on the card will fight.

Hopefully more announcements about the event will come soon.
