Great international men have risen to prominence in the NBA. The proof came in last season’s MVP vote, when three of the top four were great men from other countries. Serbian Nikola Jokic of Denver was the MVP winner. Joel Embiid of Philadelphia of Cameroon was the finalist. Greece’s Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee was fourth in the votes and was the MVP of the NBA Finals. Meanwhile, Frenchman Rudy Gobert of Utah won his third Defensive Player of the Year title. Atlanta’s Swiss Clint Capela was the NBA’s top rebounder. Hawks coach Nate McMillan says they understand the fundamentals of shooting, passing and dribbling.
