Inaugural Bulls Fest kicks off next NBA season – WGN TV Chicago

CHICAGO — As the NBA season kicks off next month, the Chicago Bulls are hosting their first-ever street festival for fans during United Center Labor Day Weekend.

Chicago Bulls chief marketing officer Sarah Smith says there’s something for everyone, not just basketball fans.

Bulls Fest will feature the best of Chicago’s food trucks and art, a three-way basketball tournament and the Michelob Ultra entertainment scene, with performances from Da Brat, Wayne Williams and Terry Hunter of The Chosen Few DJ, and G Herbo.

Smith expects around 6,000 people to attend each day.

“We know how passionate our Bulls fans are in the city, so it felt like the perfect combination of a street fest and a three-on-three tournament,” Smith said.

Charles Barnes brought his 14-year-old son Charles Barnes Jr to participate.

“I think people are excited to see the three-on-three tournament coming back, we did a version of it back in the 90s, so it’s a remastered version,” Barnes said.

Organizers hope to make it an annual Labor Day weekend tradition.

The festival runs from Saturday to Sunday and admission is free.
