Idris Elba is best known for his acting work, but he is also well established in the music business. He performed at Coachella in 2019, he co-starred in a Stormzy video later that year, and also in 2019 he released a mixtape. Lately he’s been working on music and it looks like he’s got a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion going on.
In an interview with CapitalFM’s The brand new weekend in the capital (as Billboard notes), Elba revealed he had a track with Meg and Davido on the way: “I put out a lot of music, man. I’ve been really focused on getting out of last year this year, trying to put more music out there, so expect more. I have a track with Frankie Wah coming up, I think it’s going to be good. […] I had a sly air with Meg Thee Stallion and Davido, well done the fanatics.
He also added that he hoped to be on a track with his Cats co-star Taylor Swift, saying, “I’ve known Taylor for a few years. People see the album sales, the awards. What they don’t see is hard work. She is an incredibly hardworking person, she doesn’t rest on her accomplishments. Performing live with her would be fun and hopefully we can make it happen.
