“(Investing in Cameroon) – In Cameroon for CameroonThis is the title of the very first corporate film produced by Huawei in Cameroon. The film, produced in partnership with the Ministry of Water and Energy, Camtel and Sup’ptic, recapitulates the projects that Huawei has carried out within the framework of its partnership with Cameroon.
This film was previewed on March 5, 2020 in Yaoundé. As part of the first, the partners celebrated Huawei’s achievements in Cameroon.
“I take this wonderful opportunity to thank and congratulate our partner, Huawei Cameroon, for all their efforts. I thank them for the quality of the equipment, the technical support and the experience in the smooth and efficient implementation of the first two phases of rural electrification projects using photovoltaic solar energy. They succeeded despite the pitfalls inherent in this type of project in rural areas where access is not always easy“Said Gaston Eloundou Essomba, the Minister of Water and Energy.
“Huawei has cooperated extensively with Camtel to promote the development of ICT in Cameroon. With technical support from Huawei, the ICT industry has made significant progress over the past decade (…) Also, our partner Huawei has always invested in the training of its employees. He transfers his skills to these employees by offering them regular training in China to enable them to acquire project management skills and share their experience.Added Judith Yah Sunday, general manager of Camtel.
The various ICT projects carried out in Cameroon by Huawei include the SAIL cable system which links Kribi to Fortaleza (Brazil), the deployment of the national backbone with Camtel, rural electrification using solar energy; and the construction of data centers for the CNPS and Campost.
