‘I would have Marko Arnautovic rather than Jadon Sancho’ – Manchester United fans told to come true on transfer ambitions as Gabby Agbonlahor targets Red Devils winger

Gabby Agbonlahor insists he would take Marko Arnautovic over Jadon Sancho and has told Manchester United fans to come to terms with their new reality.

Despite the arrival of new manager Erik ten Hag, many believe the Red Devils lack a squad capable of mixing with England’s top teams.

A recent bid to sign Marko Arnautovic was dropped after backlash from disappointed fans – and Aston Villa legend Gabby Agbonlahor has a problem with that attitude.

And the former striker has also taken aim at marquee signing Sancho, who has three league goals since signing a £67m deal last year, and tells United fans that marquee signings could belong in the past.

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “I don’t know who Man United fans think they are. Arnautovic makes this team a better team.

“They need to stop living in the Fergie years. Man United now are a club that cannot attract the best players.

“We are talking about looking to the future with younger players. They did this with Sancho and he can’t face anyone.

“He recovers the ball, he sends it back to Dalot, he hides, he does not pass people.

“Look at the wingers they’ve had in the past. Valencia – he used to go past people and put crosses. Even Nani was outstanding. Sancho doesn’t do that.

“I prefer Arnautovic in my team than Jadon Sancho at the moment.

“If he makes this team better for a season, bring him in. It’s the manager’s choice, no matter what the fans think.

“After scoring two goals they will change their minds. They don’t shop at Harrods anymore, they are in a different place.
