“I will use my own flames to heat up my opponents…” – Joe Joyce engages in hilarious, awkward conversation ahead of clash with Zhilei Zhang

Joe Joyce has always been known more for his in-ring prowess and his iron chin than for his trash talk.

‘The Juggernaut’ is coming off his best career victory over Joseph Parker last year, when he stopped the New Zealand man for the first time in his career, with a stunning eleventh-round knockout.

Next, Joyce will face China’s Zhilei Zhang in what is sure to be an entertaining heavyweight brawl on April 15 at London’s Copperbox Arena.

Zhang’s last fight came on the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua 2 card, as he took on Filip Hrgovic, who is widely touted as a future world champion.

Hrgovic defeated Zhang via unanimous decision, although many onlookers, including Joyce, thought “Big Bang” deserved the decision.

Like Joyce, Zhang is 6-foot-6 and an Olympic silver medalist, with a record of 24-1-1 and 19 knockouts as a professional.

As an experienced operator, Joyce is unlikely to get inside Zhang’s head during the build-up, and he certainly won’t with his last gossip attempt.

Joyce was asked in an interview with BT Sport if there was any chance he would lose his temper against Zhang in the ring when they fight and after explaining he would stay weighted he tried some remarks. hilarious and goofy.

“I’m ‘The Juggernaut,'” Joyce said. “I walk through fires and use my own flames to uh…warm up my opponents.”

Joyce then burst out laughing, as even he realized that this kind of chatter wasn’t going to shake Zhang.

That being said, Joyce went on to say, “It’s going to be carnage in the center of the ring.”

And, it’s hard to argue with that, as neither man likes to step back, so this fight almost guarantees fireworks.
