‘I love the Moyesiah,’ says Russell Brand who hails West Ham boss and says it’s one of the best times for the Hammers

Russell Brand thinks it was one of the best times he has ever had as a West Ham fan.

A creditable sixth place in the Premier League last season was followed by a challenge for a Champions League spot this term.

They also impressed in Europe as they finished top of their Europa League group.

Hammers fans have ironically called the club “massive” and Brand is fully on that bandwagon and hailed manager David Moyes.

“I love the Moyseiah!” Mark joked. “West Ham is huge, everywhere we go!

“I’m looking that way… Jarrod Bowen’s top drawer, Michail’s [Antonio] unbelievable… my friend says Kurt Zouma looks like he’s in the wrong school, he’s so good!

“I don’t remember a West Ham team being so cohesive and able to move between smooth play and necessary structure. He knows what he’s doing, Moyes.

Brand continued, “It’s one of the best times I can remember. It was exciting with Tevez, with Pardew. 1986 is the origin of West Ham in my childhood memory.

West Ham’s bid for a top four finish suffered a blow at the weekend as they suffered a last-minute defeat at Manchester United, with Marcus Rashford scoring in what was effectively the game’s final spot-kick.

He appeared to be a controversial winner with Edinson Cavani providing the assist for the winner initially looking offside before switching to Rashford. However, replays show that the Uruguayan was actually in the game.

Brand joked: “How can that goal be allowed to sit with Cavani’s whole hand offside! His whole hand is out! It’s corruption at Old Trafford I tell you. What are they trying to do at Old Trafford, bring back the glory days?
