Huawei CEO and CFO Meng Wanzhou will begin her term as the company’s rotating chairwoman on April 1, 2023. She is the company’s rotating chairwoman and this will be her first term.
Meng Wanzhou will take over as Huawei’s first rotating chairwoman, and Mr. Guo Ping will be transferred to the position of chairman of Huawei’s supervisory board. After Mr. Guo, the presidents and rotating presidents are Xu Zhijun, Hu Huokon and Meng Wanzhou.
Currently, Xu Zhijun holds the presidency for 6 months and his term will end on March 31, 2023. For your information, the term of a rotating president is 4 months.
Before getting started, China National Building Materials Group and Huawei held a strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony in Beijing in February. Meng Wanzhou attended the signing ceremony as Huawei’s rotating chairman and witnessed the signing.

Meng Wanzhou graduated from China Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a master’s degree. Joined Huawei in 1993. She was successively the company’s international accounting director, Huawei Hong Kong’s financial director and president of the accounting management department. During this time, she serves as vice president, rotating president and chief financial officer of the company.
Since 2003, Meng Wanzhou has led the establishment of a financially unified Huawei IT structure, process, system and platform globally. From 2007 to 2014, Meng Wanzhou promoted Huawei’s IFS (Integrated Financial Services) reform globally, making fine management one of the genes of Huawei’s continuous growth.
In 2014, Meng Wanzhou led Huawei’s data transformation and established a comprehensive data management system. He is the key person for adapting “counting a hole”, and has made data a strategic asset for the company.
She has enabled financial organizations to become valued business partners and integrators through reform projects such as internal control over financial reporting, consistency of accounts and facts, funds management and tax management, and has supported the rapid and steady development of the company’s activities on a global scale.
Since 2019, Meng Wanzhou has made a comprehensive plan for financial digitalization in line with Huawei’s strategic foresight and long-term development plan.
Through risk probes and control models, a non-contact risk control system and an agile operation and management system have been established to conduct intelligent operations management and decision-making based on AI data and algorithms.
