Huawei and Saudi Telecom developed the world’s first SuperLink network solution and installed it in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The latest product offers extraordinary performance and stability in terms of network operations.
The SuperLink solution is primarily aimed at improving network services in the region. As the name suggests, it features a single link bandwidth of 10 Gbps and provides advanced and high-frequency throughputs in 5G coverage.
Moreover, the excellent product supports single antenna which saves 67% antenna area and 70% equipment. In addition, the SuperLink network solution is the first product from Huawei and Saudi Telecom that uses a multi-frequency antenna and a 4-in-1 AC ODU carrier collection.
Multi-frequency antenna
To mention, a multi-frequency antenna includes a variety of frequency bands. For example 6 GHz, 7 GHz, 8 GHz, 13 GHz, 15 GHz, etc. With the help of this mechanism, operators are relieved from using a separate antenna each time when receiving a new frequency.
In addition, the 4-in-1 CA (Carrier Aggregation) ODU (outdoor unit) combines four components into one piece of equipment. Thus, it reduces the number of external units by 75%. Besides, it contains higher modulation working elements and wide bandwidth which increases the capacity of single ODU by 500%.
With such components, the Superlink solution can deliver an efficient performance network at minimal cost.
The SuperLink solution will accelerate the development of 5G
Saudi Telecom Company (STC) Vice President of Infrastructure – Eng. Bader A. Allhieb believes that the single network solution will accelerate the evolution of 5G in Saudi Arabia. In addition, it will put an end to long distance network coverage problems in suburban areas.
Until now, Saudi Arabia used E-band media for remote locations. However, traditional solutions have not proven to be very effective for users. Therefore, Saudi Telecom decided to collaborate with Huawei and roll out meaningful products in the region.
On the other hand, Huawei said it will continue to innovate new technologies that can help 5G evolve across the world.
