It is also the first time that Huawei has opened its Shanghai Audio Lab to the media, covering an area of over 2,000 square meters. The laboratory is equipped with an objective evaluation system of the active noise reduction of the headphones and an objective evaluation system of the sound quality of the headphones. It also has a multi-scenario sound environment simulation laboratory with variable reverberation. This is mainly used to adjust and test the music playback effect of products such as smartphones, PCs, large screens, audio and home theaters in various environments. It could also be used to adjust the receiving sound quality of the headphones.

Today, the company has a team of over 500 acoustic engineers worldwide, spread across seven global R&D centers, including institutes in Tokyo, Munich and Tampere in Finland.

Yu said that the main intelligent dynamic noise reduction of the FreeBuds Pro 2, silent call functions have been studied here, creating sound quality with deep bass and rich details. More than 3,500 tests had been performed on the helmet as a whole. The intelligent dynamic noise reduction function can quickly identify the type of noise in the environment and automatically switch to the corresponding noise reduction mode for users.

The FreeBuds Pro 2 offers three degrees of noise reduction, including deep, soft, and balanced. The deep noise reduction is suitable when you take the subway or on an airplane. The headphones will automatically deepen noise reduction effects and weaken low frequency noise. Meanwhile, light mode supports quiet environments such as libraries and offices. Headphones will help users to eliminate noise from machinery such as air conditioners and computers. The balanced mode is suitable for taking a nap in noisy areas or in a cafe, and the headphones can effectively reduce background noise interference in these circumstances.
