ISLAMANAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi yesterday highlighted the vast investment opportunities in Pakistan in various fields, including information technology.
In a meeting with a delegation of senior representatives from Huawei Technologies led by Vice President (Middle East Region) Space Lee, he praised the work undertaken by Huawei Technologies.
Other members of the delegation included deputy CEO of Huawei Pakistan, Wuhan and public relations director of Huawei Technologies, Ahmad Jahanzeb Malik. Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Zain Qureshi was also present on the occasion. During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Minister of Foreign Affairs on various investment projects undertaken by Huawei Technologies in Pakistan. They assured the Minister of Foreign Affairs that Huawei will continue to bring its safe and reliable solutions and the latest technologies to Pakistan, including projects dedicated to equipping Pakistan’s vibrant youth.
While praising the work undertaken by Huawei Technologies, Shah Mehmood Qureshi highlighted the vast investment opportunities in Pakistan in various fields, including information technology. He said that economic diplomacy is at the heart of the government’s priorities and that only the optimal use of information technologies allows better governance and better transparency.
Meanwhile, Huawei Middle East Vice President (VP) of Public Affairs visited PTA on Tuesday. In a statement released by PTA, Li Xiangyu (Spacelee), vice president of public affairs and communications of Huawei Middle East, visited the PTA headquarters in Islamabad. He met with PTA President Major General (r) Amir Azeem Bajwa and discussed issues of mutual interest. The two sides discussed possible collaborations with Huawei as well as support in developing and upgrading the IT sector to accelerate progress towards digital Pakistan.
