AR creates a new frontier
Data from Huawei and third parties predict that the AR market will reach $ 300 billion by 2025. “AR will first be adopted massively in five priority sectors: education, social media, shopping, travel and navigation and games, ”Cai said. “AR can truly enable the convergence of the physical and digital worlds, making dreams come true.”
AR makes communication more efficient
At the event, Cai shared case studies of Huawei using AR. Due to COVID-19, customers around the world cannot visit Huawei in person. Huawei therefore uses AR to present its main products and solutions online, which makes communication much more efficient. Huawei also uses AR to ensure rapid delivery of 5G base stations, which greatly improves delivery efficiency.
Huawei simplifies augmented reality
At the event, Cai demonstrated how Huawei “produces” AR. Huawei’s Air Photo uses unique algorithms to convert a 2D photo into a 3D digital model, greatly simplifying the modeling of 3D AR characters. Cai also introduced Huawei AR Engine, the company’s mobile-oriented AR development platform. With Huawei AR Engine, developers only need to write 10 lines of code to create AR effects, greatly increasing the efficiency of AR application development.
The whole industry should work together to create a 5G + AR ecosystem
A number of prominent guests attended the event and delivered speeches, including He Chengjian, Director of Shenzhen Communication Management Office, David MacQueen, Executive Director of Strategy Analytics, Huang He, Chief Producer from Shenzhen TV station, Wei Rongjie, CEO of RealMax, Hiroshi Fukuda, CEO of meleap, Liang Jinhao, representative of the HADO China region, and Fu Jie, executive director of the Shenzhen AR Association. They shared the latest AR use cases and their thoughts on future AR trends.
According to He Chengjian, Shenzhen is the first city in the world to have full 5G SA coverage. The ICT services represented by AR have the potential to be adopted across a wide range of sectors, including industrial production, e-commerce, real estate, interior design, culture, sport, tourism, health and education. . AR applications have become a key driver of digital transformation and will profoundly change production methods and our way of life.
