Huawei offers this first-of-its-kind satellite technology feature on its smartphone: know more – News18

Huawei has introduced the satellite connectivity feature in its latest flagship smartphone, the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. But that’s not the interesting part, since Apple already offers this technology with the iPhone. Huawei uses this satellite connectivity to allow users to send images through the Changlian app. Pura 70 Ultra became the company’s second smartphone made with an in-house processor, produced in China itself.

The Changlian app is currently available for select Huawei smartphones on the Huawei App Market. Even though the Pura 70 Ultra is not the first smartphone to have the satellite connectivity feature, it is certainly the first phone to allow users to send images via this feature.

This will help users to send images to their contacts in case of emergency. Huawei first introduced the satellite connectivity feature with the Mate 50 series. Previously, the Mate 50 series allowed users to simply send short messages via the BeiDou satellite network. Later, they added the audio calling feature to the Mate 60 Pro, which was launched last year.

According to reports, it was found that this feature would be enabled with lower network bandwidth, resulting in compressed and blurred images. Besides Huawei, Google also recently announced that it will launch its satellite connectivity in the new Pixel 9 series, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2024.

Apple has been offering emergency satellite communication to its users since the iPhone 14 series. But Apply only allows users to send text messages and share their live location using this feature. This has been one of the strengths of iOS.

Coming to the features of the Pura 70 Ultra, the smartphone comes with a robust Kirin 9010 chipset and is supported by a 5,200mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. In terms of camera capabilities, the smartphone has been equipped with a unique mechanically rotating telescopic lens on a 50-megapixel one-inch primary sensor, which improves image clarity and quality at high zoom levels.
