Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite 10 tablet with Harman Kardon Quad speakers, launch of the Kirin 659 processor – News18

Last week, Huawei unveiled an upcoming tablet for the Indian market that would offer premium features at a price range of Rs 20-25,000. While we were waiting for the MediaPad M6, the company launched the MediaPad M5 Lite 10. The new tablet is priced at Rs 22,999 for the only storage variant of 4 GB RAM + 64 GB. Customers can pre-book the tablet on Flipkart, Chroma and other retail stores from 6 March or register themselves on the company website.

However, before thinking about buying this device, let’s just review the specifications. The MediaPad M5 Lite 10 has a 10.1 inch Full HD IPS screen (1920 x 1200 pixels). The company added ClariVu 5.0, which essentially automatically adjusts the tone and brightness of the screen, which is fairly standard on most smartphones and tablets these days. It also comes with Harman Kardon quad speakers. The tablet comes with a metallic monocoque design and a 2.5D curved glass on top of the screen.

The tablet is powered by an 8-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC processor with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. There are two 8-megapixel cameras on the front and rear and a 7,500 mAh battery to keep the lights on. The company claims that the battery offers 13 hour video playback and that the battery supports 18W fast charging. Now for the disappointing part. The tablet works on Android 8.0 with Huawei’s EMUI 9.8 skin. Since we’re going to get Android 11 this year, Huawei would at least have offered Android 9.0 with the tablet. Either way, the user interface comes with a feature called Kids Corner, which allows parents to control the use of their kids and even customize the content they can access. The tablet will support the company’s M-Pen Lite, which will be sold separately.
