A few weeks ago, the Chinese giant Huawei launched its second foldable smartphone, dubbed Huawei Mate Xs. As its name confirms, the device is the upgraded variant of the Huawei Mate X launched last year.
Today, the Huawei Mate Xs foldable smartphone went on sale in the Chinese market at 10:08 a.m. local time, priced at 16,999 yuan, which roughly turns into $ 2,450. The device was in reservation since February 26 on an electronic commerce platform like Vmall and JD.com.
The Huawei Mate Xs comes with a few improvements over the previous model. It has an improved hinge structure and an improved cooling system. In addition, the device is powered by the latest Huawei Kirin 990 5G chipset, coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
The smartphone has a double layer structure on the foldable 8-inch OLED screen that offers a screen resolution of 2200 x 2480 pixels. The 6.6-inch front display has an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9 and the rear screen section provides a high aspect ratio of 25: 9.

The device’s camera setup includes a 40-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS, an ultra-wide 16-megapixel lens, and a ToF sensor. There is no separate front camera module since the main cameras with the rear screen functioning as a viewfinder can be used to take selfies and video calls.
The smartphone is running the latest out of the box Android 10 operating system with Huawei’s EMUI 10 user interface at the top. Since the company has not been authorized to use Google’s applications and services, it ships with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) to replace Google’s services. The device is powered by a 4500 mAh battery and is compatible with a fast charge of 55 W.
