When it comes to the smartwatch industry, two players have made their mark in recent quarters: Apple and Huawei. As it turns out, both companies have recently unveiled new wearables, with Apple refreshing its offering in the form of the Series 9 and Huawei doing the same by launching two models in the Watch GT 4 line.
Focusing on the latter, Huawei’s two options are the 46mm and 41mm smartwatches.
The 46mm option is defined by a chronograph-like look, while the 42mm version is thinner and sleeker.
While we don’t have official local pricing at the time of writing, Huawei Mobile South Africa has wasted no time in drumming up interest in the device.
To that end, both models are available for pre-pre-order as part of a special Early Bird offer from the company. Afterwards, more traditional pre-orders will open on September 27 and go on sale on October 6.
We should have a better idea of recommended retail prices on September 27, when Huawei Mobile SA holds a local launch event for the devices.

By focusing a little more on the designs, Huawei has seemingly differentiated the pair of smartwatches in terms of masculine and feminine aesthetics.

“HUAWEI WATCH GT 4 will be available in 8 different colors, with easy-to-swap HUAWEI Easyfit bands and thousands of watch faces to choose from. Anyone who likes to experiment with different styles will definitely benefit from the product’s extensive design offerings,” he adds.
With Huawei already having many enviable smartwatches on the market, it will be interesting to see where this latest pair stands.
