Huawei Expansion in Latin America and the Caribbean: Perspectives from the Region – United States Institute of Peace

NATO marked its 75th anniversary last week with a celebration in Brussels. While Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has breathed new life and resolve into the alliance, the 32-member collective security pact is also grappling with its future in a world of growing competition between major powers. In 2022, NATO formally identified China for the first time as a challenge to its interests and collective security. As NATO continues to support Ukraine and address future global challenges, it must also resolve internal issues, ranging from individual members’ defense spending to issues posed by the need for collective decision between 32 members.
