Attendees of “American Idol” will sing songs dedicated to loved ones in their lives on Sunday, May 9, episode at 8:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day.
The singers will also perform a second song from the Coldplay songbook and will be mentored by singer Chris Martin.
ABC has stated that Coldplay will perform their new single, “Higher Power”.

The remaining seven contestants are Casey Bishop, Caleb Kennedy, Chayce Beckham, Willie Spence, Grace Kinstler, Hunter Metts and Arthur Gunn from last season.
The show’s judges are Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The host is Ryan Seacrest.
Only two more episodes of “American Idol” remain with the finale slated for May 23.
