Chelsea have not played a Premier League game since beating West Ham 2-1 on September 3, although they have played two UEFA Champions League games in the meantime. Likewise, Newcastle last played on the same day, drawing 0-0. Both teams have seen two Premier League matches delayed due to the period of mourning following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
This will be Graham Potter’s first Premier League game in charge of Chelsea after replacing Thomas Tuchel. He has only managed a 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg in the Champions League so far.
