How to get the News & Interests widget in Windows 10

Advice: If you have already disabled the widget, you can retrieve it by right-clicking on your taskbar, pointing to “News & Interests” and selecting “Show icon and text” or “Show icon”. How to use and configure Widget cards
The News & Points of Interest widget begins with various information panels called “maps” which are enabled by default. These maps show sports scores, stock prices, weather forecasts or local traffic. If you scroll down, you’ll also see news that is pulled automatically from the web.
If you want to see more information about the weather, actions, or other maps, click on the map itself. A page with more details will load on MSN.com in the Edge browser. (Even the widget’s weather map opens an MSN weather website instead of Windows 10’s built-in weather app.)
If you want to configure how a map works, for example by changing the location in the weather map or adding a stock symbol to the fundraising map, click the menu button in the upper right corner of the map panel. . In the menu that appears, you will see the card configuration options.
The widget refreshes itself throughout the day, but if you ever want to refresh the map information manually, you can click the “Refresh” button (it looks like a circle arrow) at the top of the window. widget.
How to deactivate sports, finance, weather or traffic cards
If you don’t want to see a particular widget card, open the News widget and click the menu button (three dots in a circle) in the upper right corner of the panel you want to hide.
In the menu that appears, select “Hide sports card” (or the card it is). On exit, there is no way to turn off the feed portion of the widget.
You can also activate and deactivate different cards from a unified menu. To do this, click on the three-dot button in the upper right corner of the widget window and select “Language & Content” from the menu.
The Edge browser will open and load an “Experience Settings” page on an MSN.com website that controls Windows 10 News Widget preferences. In the “Info Cards” section, toggle the switches to ” disabled ”next to the cards you want to hide. (You can also re-enable hidden cards from this menu.)
After making changes, reopen the widget in the taskbar and click the circular “Refresh” button at the top.

To note: If you’re signed in to a Microsoft account in your browser while changing your News widget settings but you’re not signed in to the same Microsoft account on Windows 10, the settings on the MSN.com page won’t work. In this case, you will need to sign out of your Microsoft account in your browser, reload the MSN widget settings page, and then make the changes again. Reload the widget for the settings to take effect.
How to customize your taskbar widget’s news feed
If you want to influence what news Microsoft pulls from the web for display on your News & Interests widget, open the widget (by clicking on it in the taskbar) and select “Manage Interests” at the top of the window. widget.
A special MSN.com web page will open in your browser allowing you to select or deselect interests by subject. Interests available include science, television, the NBA, and more.
After selecting your interests, open the widget and click the reload button (a circular arrow) at the top of the window. You will see more news related to the topics you selected.
If you don’t like some of the stories you see in your news feed, you can hover over an individual news panel and click the “X” button in its upper right corner.
The widget will then give you the choice between “Not interested in this story” (The widget will display fewer stories like this one.), “Dislike the source” (The widget will no longer display news from this post. .), or “Report a Problem” (where you can report offensive or misleading content).

How to completely hide the News & Weather widget
If you don’t want to see the news widget on your Windows 10 taskbar, right-click on the taskbar and select “News & Interests,” then “Disable” from the menu that appears.
In this same menu, you can also control options related to the widget, including selecting a smaller size for the widget in the taskbar (“Show icon only”) and making sure that you click on the widget to open it (“Open Hover”).
