Graham Potter: ‘A really important victory’
Speaking to BT Sport after the game: “It was a good night for us. We had to play well. The attitude and application of the players was fantastic. It was a very important win for us.
“I thought we started off a little nervous for about five minutes. It was just the result of our desire to do well. But then you saw the appetite of the players. We took control of it and had a bit of a threat. The first goal was important. We had to start a bit on the back foot in the second half. We suffered a bit, which was good, and the second goal gave us some relief.
“Clean sheet, three goals. The personality of the players was good.”
On Wesley Fofana’s injury: “We’ll have to scan that tomorrow. We’ll see how it is. Nothing to report at the moment. The only disappointment of the evening.”
“It was a good performance by the team overall. Apart from the end of the first half, (AC Milan) didn’t have many chances. That says a lot about how which we defended as a unit. It was an important victory but still a long way to go in the competition.
“The boys were really open, responsible, honest and fantastic to work with. They realized they weren’t up to it. It’s great from a manager’s point of view.”

Julen Lopetegui, trainer of the Seville fire brigade
Sevilla parted ways with head coach Julen Lopetegui less than an hour after their 4-1 home loss to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The Spanish side have won only once in their first seven league matches, losing four times and drawing twice. Lopetegui, 56, leaves Sevilla 17th in La Liga after losing 2-0 to Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
Sevilla also had a rocky start to their Champions League group stage, drawing 0-0 with FC Copenhagen and losing 4-0 to Manchester City ahead of today’s loss to Dortmund.

Your player of the match
Making his 100th start for Chelsea, Reece James was outstanding tonight, driving that point home with his emphatic strike for his side’s third goal.
The 22-year-old has become Chelsea’s youngest player to score and register an assist in the same Champions League game.

A rare sight
AC Milan have been shut out for just the second time this season, while Chelsea have kept a clean sheet for just the second time – and the first since their opener on August 6.
Graham Potter will be delighted with the performance of his defenders tonight.

Aubameyang post-match thoughts
“It was not an easy game because I think they played well in the first half. We kept the intensity very high and then we were dominant and confident.
“I feel good. I was well received by the teammates and the staff so I feel very happy.”
On playing for AC Milan as a young player: “It was a bit strange to play against them after many years, but that’s football.”
On Fofana’s goal: “It gave us the confidence to play the game. We knew what we had to do against Milan. They have great attackers and I think the defenders did a good job today.”
“It’s easier when you win games. The atmosphere is very good at the moment, so we will try to maintain it and yes, that’s it.”

Chelsea in search of a fourth goal
88′ Chelsea 3-0 AC Milan
Assuming Chelsea retain victory here, these two sides will be level by four points in Group E, one behind Red Bull Salzburg at the halfway point.
As the group stage tiebreakers are head-to-head results and then head-to-head goal difference, Chelsea would benefit from putting this match even further out of reach with another goal.

A word for Dest
83′ Chelsea 3-0 AC Milan
Sergino Dest understandably looked a bit rusty tonight but getting his first full 90 minutes for AC Milan can only be good for the USA international.
With Milan’s numerous injuries in defence, Dest should be in line for more playing time ahead of the World Cup.
