How do you become friends with Jennifer Lawrence?
Although there is no playbook, Brian Tyree Henry recently revealed how he and the actress broke the ice on the set of their new movie Pavement.
“I think at one point we were sitting together in our tent and she was reading [Sylvia Plath‘s] The glass bell“, he recalled to E! News at the 2022 Gotham Awards on Nov. 28. “And I kind of knocked his hand off and I was like, ‘What are you doing? Why are you bringing this book here? And she’s like, ‘Because I want to be deep.’ I was like, ‘I feel that.'”
Henry said he and Lawrence would “talk about everything,” such as their lives and shared experiences, which “connected us even more deeply.” However, the actor admitted he was initially nervous about meeting the Oscar-winning actor.
“I was really intimidated because she’s so powerful,” he continued. “I’ve seen pretty much everything she’s done. And it was really cool because she started out in an independent film, so coming back to such an independent film in that way, it was like she was going back to his roots. And I was like, ‘Oh my god, and they chose me to do this.'”
