For the Gold Cup, Dan Skelton will take four of his stars My Drogo, Third Time Lucki, Nube Negra and favorite Protektorat.
Protektorat and Lalor, the nine-year-old coached by Paul Nicholls, appear to be the ones to beat in Saturday’s race.
The 6-year-old trained by Skelton has form to be reckoned with, with a 2m4f victory at Aintree in the freshman competition in April.
Lalor will need to get back in shape though after stopping twice more recently, but we know he loves this track and could come back this weekend for connections.
Other notable odds include Midnight Shadow and Simply The Betts which has Bryony Frost on board.
