Honda e:N2 Concept previews upcoming electric vehicles to be sold exclusively in China

Honda is bolstering its electrified lineup in China, one of the world’s biggest markets for electric vehicles. Around this time last year, it launched a set of show cars called e:N Concepts, which were a preview of future Honda electric vehicles for the People’s Republic.

Honda already started selling the e:NS1 and e:NP1 electric SUVs earlier this year. Today, the Japanese automaker is launching the e:N2 concept, which is said to be the concept model for the second set of e:N series models that will be exclusively sold in China through the Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda joint ventures. The concept car was presented to the public at the fifth China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

The e:N2 concept draws inspiration from several elements of the e:N GT concept, one of five China-only electric vehicles previewed last year. It sports a bold shape, defined by clean lines and futuristic lighting elements, which highlight the dark metallic look.

Although it’s not clear from the image provided in the press release, it looks like the e:N2 concept will come with four doors, although the body style is something “that doesn’t belong in any existing category. “, according to Honda. Reports from China refer to the new concept car as an SUV.

Honda didn’t provide any images for the interior although it was mentioned in the release that it comes with a clean and uncluttered digital cockpit, as well as passenger-focused features thanks to Honda Connect. There is also the presence of lighting and scents in the cabin.

Meanwhile, the e:N2 concept is built on the e:NF architecture which is exclusively developed for the e:N series models. It is designed to deliver unique driving pleasure, exceptional vehicle stability and precise handling, according to Honda.

Honda plans to launch 10 e:N series models in China by 2027, produced in dedicated electric vehicle production plants. All Honda models in China after 2030 will be either hybrids or full electric vehicles and by 2040 everything will be purely electric.
