The Honda Civic Si may debut soon and deliveries are expected to begin in November or December, according to a Civic 11 forum post citing dealer sources. Motor1.com has contacted Honda for confirmation of this information, and a spokesperson said, “We will have more to share regarding the listing soon.”
“A few resellers recently confirmed that their first customer ordered Si’s are appearing on orders and are expected to arrive in November,” the forum post said.
This timing is a little later than expected as the earlier estimate of the car’s arrival places the sales start in October. A dealership leak indicates that the Civic Si is available in Crystal Black Pearl, Aegean Blue Metallic, Red Sonic Gray Pearl, Platinum White Pearl and Blazing Orange Pearl.
Honda plans to sell the new Civic Si only as a sedan with a manual transmission. Rumors suggest that this version would get a hotter version for the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder. Its power in the previous-generation Civic Si was 205 horsepower (153 kilowatts) and 192 pound-feet (260 Newton-meters) of torque.
The Civic Si also probably has a slightly more aggressive body. The changes likely include a revised lower fairing, different spoiler, updated rear bumper, center-exit exhaust and possibly larger side sills. Inside, expect small changes like seats with larger bolsters and different trim.
We don’t yet have pricing details for the new Civic Si. The top variant of the current Civic sedan is the Touring which starts at $ 28,300 (plus a destination fee of $ 1,015). Expect the hottest model to cost a bit more.
If you’re looking for something nastier, the Civic Type R is expected to arrive at some point in 2022. Spy photos show it has bigger fenders and a big fender. The engine could be an optimized version of the existing 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder to push power beyond the current 306 hp (228 kW).
