A trailer for the highly anticipated Motherland Christmas was released on Wednesday, giving fans of the show a preview of what to expect.
The short clip shows Julia (Anna Maxwell Martin) debating what to get her mother for Christmas with Liz (Diane Morgan) and Kevin (Paul Ready).
The BBC2 comedy has won a legion of fans since it first aired in 2016, taking a comedic look at the jealousies, rivalries and insecurities among a group of primary school mums.

In the trailer, Julia worries, “I’m just not good at Christmas presents!” while Kevin quips: “It’s one of my talents with changing duvets and cooking rice!”
Julia adds: ‘So what are we going to have mum then Mr Santa Claus? Because last year she said not to get her anything, so I didn’t and then she put on a sad face all day – which is a very mixed message!
Kevin then suggests giving her an experience like zorbing to which Liz then asks, “What is zorbing?”

Kevin then clarifies, “It’s when you roll down a hill in a giant transparent ball.”
Liz then hilariously exclaims, “She’s an old lady, not a gerbil!”
While it’s still unclear if a fourth season will happen, despite pleas from fans, it’s been confirmed that the cast will reunite for a one-off special featuring returning guest star Joanna Lumley.
After quickly becoming a fan favorite when she appeared in Season 3, the British icon will reprise her role as Felicity, Amanda’s unsatisfied mother.

The special will see mums and Kevin busy getting ready for the ultimate co-ed Christmas celebrations.
It’s a full house at Julia’s with an influx of grandparents demanding endless cups of tea.
Kevin also joins the family this year after Julia learns her alternative is to eat turkey chips from the hotel vending machine with the other divorced dads.

Liz also shows up when her ex cancels following a huge Christmas Eve bender, dropping her on her very first host offer.
Things don’t look any better for Amanda (Lucy Punch), who spends Christmas Day with her ex Johnny (Terry Mynott), the kids, and Johnny’s new wife, Tamara (Louise Delamere).
Amanda’s mother, Felicity, has also been invited and jumps at the chance to revel in the uncomfortable atmosphere.
The contrast to Christmas at Anne’s (Philippa Dunne) couldn’t be starker; Anne welcomes her mom (Maggie McCarthy) and cousins - all 29 – and is wild with excitement.
Despite their enduring love match, Meg’s (Tanya Moodie) husband, Bill, buys her a gift so terrible that she wonders if he really knows her.
She’s stuck in the abundance of booze she’s bought for the day, but regrets the drunken results when something truly shocking happens down the road at Julia’s house.
Motherland: Last Christmas airs Friday, December 23 at 9:30 p.m. on BBC One and iPlayer.
